Optimistic pesimistic

What happens by smoking? How is smoking harmful to us? How does it leads to different kinds of diseases? Is smoking hereditary?  So on and so forth.  There are heck a lot of questions in every individuals mind, but do we have an answer of all these querries.  Let us see what this incident teaches us or tells us.

Every time this old man came into the office he used to call all the staffs to his table.  Willing or unwilling all had to assemble around his table, as he was the chief of  the organisation.  Fearing punishment on refusal, every staff used to listen to the same old broken record that "Fools learn from their experience. Brilliant learn from others experience."All the staffs were fedup by this ordeal everyday.  One fine morning one young chap frustrated asked him -  Sir can you please stop this nonsense, and let us know what you mean.

The chief said  -  I was just 18 when I had completed my first year in my college.  We five friends were just like the famous five who used to be always together in all the activities.  Happy, free, fearless young chaps, enjoying everything in life to the core.  Once we all attended a birthday party. Party means lots of eatables with hot drinks and specialty being smoking.  Then being a teen and not smoking means a girlish character.  Friends instigated  to smoke just once.  That day I slipped down the slide board, and picked up this habit of smoking, which at this age of 53 has become a menace for my life.  Even though I stopped smoking ten years ago, I could not get rid of its effects.  How does this instigating, aromatic substance harm us. What are its effect?  I could realise it very late and it was too late to retrieve back.  Now I am left to fend for myself.  Smoking is harmful, how - Our nostril is lined up with tiny hairs called cilia, which prevents all the dusts particles from entering our lungs.  These hairs are lined down till the lungs.  When we smoke these hairs which are very tiny and soft, are burnt down.  Constant smoking, these hairs are totally destroyed.  Hence we are prone to attract any kinds of disease.  We strain the tea dust to have a aromatic hot drink.  God gave us an useful stainer to protect us from all harmful germs and bacteria's,  but we, for a minutes happiness forget the gift given by Him and destroy it.  You are young now, you can sustain this.  As old age sets in we loose our stamina and have to cough  out the dust and dirt that enters our nostril.  Young man now do you understand why I keep saying these words again and again.  Please learn from my experience, this is what I mean.
The young staff apologized for his mistake.  The next day he wrote the Golden words neatly to be pasted in the office for everybody to see it daily.
FOOLS LEARN FROM THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE. BRILLIANT LEARN FROM OTHERS EXPERIENCE.
I hope that I will be able to reach a few hundred people with this experience.  And if I am capable of correcting or making a few realize the harmfulness of smoking, my mission is successful.
                                                                                                                                Thankyou.

Natural Teacher

Once a great scholar went for his morning walk as usual,on the streets  near his house.  He walked down a lane and was attracted by the sight of a flowering tree in a big garden.  Why this surprise.  It was summer time and such a treat was a pleasant surprise.  The flowers on the tree were beautiful and the fragrance that was spreading in the vicinity, was giving a pleasant feeling.  He was drawn by the beauty of the flowers, and automatically walked towards the gate of the big bungalow.  His hands opened the latch of the gate, he entered in, proceeded down the path, landed on the portico of the bungalow.  All these happened instantly.  The owner of the bungalow was on his lounge having his morning tea.  He was a little stunned to see a stranger in front of him.  With a exclamation mark on his forehead he asked, who he was.  What he wanted? Without answering his questions the stranger told him, Sir these flowers are really beautiful.  They are pleasant for the sight. The fragrance are giving a happy feel.  I wanted to tell you this.  The owner showed no reaction, but acknowledged his comments.  Next he called his gardener and asked him to cut down the branches of the tree before dawn.  The stranger, a scholar, a philosphere was surprised and wounded.  He felt very bad that his comments has brought destruction to the tree.  Considering it to be his fault, he stopped walking down that lane from the next morning.  Every time he stepped out for a walk he was reminded of this  incident which saddened him a lot.  He could not erase the beautiful flowers and the
earatic behavior of the owner from his mind.  Just like a mother who excuses her children even though  being rude, in the same way this philanthropist was drawn towards the big bungalow.  One fine morning he was in front of the bungalow.  It must be nearly more than two weeks by now, when he first entered that bungalow. As before he was drawn towards the house by the fragrance and pleasantness of the same tree. But this time it was more charming and beautiful.  He walked to the portico. The owner greeted him with a big smile, seated him comfortably, offered a cup of tea too.  He cheerfully said, Sir  you gave a good comment the
other day.  I disheartened you by my behavior, which perhaps saddened you and stopped you from strolling into this lane. But I wanted my tree to be more beautiful, so I trimmed it.  I was expecting you some day.  Your comments and my trimming has brought out  more beauty to this tree.  Can you realize the difference.

This man was taken aback.   This teaching cannot be achieved from  the books, scriptures doesn't teach. What a valuable teaching.  All activities  should not be monotonous, but should be trimmed to give a new touch/look. As it is said that nature is a natural healer, in the same way nature is a good teacher too. Spiritualism also needs trimming.

In the same way children of today are wondering away from correct path nowadays.  They  need a trimming.  The teachers in the schools do the same thing.  Here the principal plays the role of the owner, and the teachers the gardener.  The children are trimmed, corrected and tuned into cultured and good citizens of tomorrow.  If we are going to be optimistic we will have a fruitful result.
                                                                                                              Thankyou.

Wake up

Prayers are always heard and blessed by God.  It can be in any form.  It has to be sincere, loving and truthful.  Just like a mother who is always loving and kind to her children,God who is the  mother of this universe is very kind and tries to teach us through our mistakes.

Once upon a time there was an old man, who used to pray God everyday lovingly.
Wherever old age sets in many kinds of worries also shadows us.  It so happened that one day due to some other work the old man forgot to pray and thank God for all his blessing.  He went to sleep.  In his dream he was recollecting his days duties and remembered that he has missed his prayer today.  He felt he has committed a big mistake.  He cried bitterly to God to excuse him for  his mistake.  He would not commit this again.  The merciful God excused him as he had repented for his mistake and blessed him twice more than usual.  All this happened in his dream, which he forgot after waking.  A couple of days later some one was waking him up in the morning, saying it was time for prayer.  He woke up and asked him who he was and why he cared so much for him.  The stranger said he was saturn, and continued further, that a few days back you did not complete your prayer as usual.  In your dream you cried and prayed to God and begged him to pardon you.  God mercifully blessed you twice.  Suppose you keep repeating this again and again, I will be left jobless.   Hence I woke you up.

This small story tells us that God is very merciful  and will listen to our prayers  and bless us,  if we pray to him sincerely and truthfully.  But this doesn't mean that we make this a habit everyday, because God doesn't like hypocrisy.

Fate and Intelect

Now a days it has become a habit togo to an astrologer or a numerologist  to know about our fate.  This some times gives us happiness, some times sadden's us.  Is it correct to know about it or should we use our intelect to over come this?  This is the question which has to be answered.
Once a man went to a astrologer. He gave his horoscope to be analysed. The astrologer took two days to go through the horoscope and finally told the man - You will live for another month only.  This news upset the man very much.  He started grumbling to everyone he saw about this.  He said that he wanted to live atleast for another ten years.  People were tired listening to him. To avoid him and his grumbling , one of them said, you go to Sage Vashista, he will surely help you to change your age somehow.
He went to the Sage and told him of his fate.  Taking pity on him the sage decided to help this man.  He went straight to Yama and enquired about this.  Darma Raja said -'whatever is written in one's fate cannot be extended or reduced.  Then the sage asked the death god to atleast tell him at what time he is going to die.  Yama said, all the details are kept in the record room, you are at liberty to verify it yourself.  Vashista started hunting for this man's details.  Days passed on. One, two, three. Even after ten days he was not able to find the details. The next day sage Vashista decided in his mind that, today will be the last day, if I don't find the details today, I will stop searching for the record. Deciding thus he started
searching for it.  Fortunately he found the details.  He eagerly opened the record to know the details.  It was
written -' the day sage Vashista finds the record and reads it, this man will die.'
So dear friends do not try to change your fate using your intelect. Knowing your fate is the most unfortunate thing, as fate always goes hand in glows with intelect.

Voice of god

Everyone of us aspire for a saviour in our distress. Someone who could help,or protect
us in our hard difficult times and bring happiness. But we fail to recognise the voice of god that guides us.
No we don't beleive that voice.  here we go................
There was a young man, pious and religious.  Once he wanted to go up a mountain to
the shrine of god there.  It was already 2p.m. in the afternoon, and going up and coming down the mountain
would take him nearly 5 to 6 hours.  He thought that he could travel the distance within four to five hours as
he was very young and energitic.Hence started off.  Went up, prayed to God heartfully, sincerely and devotionally. Fully satified he started off on his return journey. He didn't know that climbing the mountain was more easier than getting down.  Sun started setting.  Darkness made his journey more strainful and difficult.  He had to be more careful as there were deep vallies on his path.  He found that trekking down the  mountain was very hard and  frightening. Then suddenly he fell down into a pit. But fortunately  caught hold of a branch and hung himself from the tree.  Fallen into distress he prayed to God .-Oh God where are you? Why don't you come and help me. The ever kindhearted God spoke to him-my son leave your hold, you will be saved. The man started thinking, this branch is my saviour now.  I do not know how deep the valley is.  Suppose I fall down and die?  No, let me hang till dawn.  Pity  the next day some pilgrims who passed by, brought down his deadbody from the tree, told - how stupid the height between the tree and the ground was just 5 feet, he could have easily jumped down, than straining himself to death.
In this same way many of us do not hear the voice that speaks within us.  But try to blame
God for beihg unkind.  The concious is the God's voice, which guides us into positive thinking.  We tend
to ignore it as it is very feeble. We have to concentrate on it and try to follow.

                                                                                                                         Thankyou

Mother's Love

Going round the earth six times, having bath in the ganges sixteen hundred times, whatever
sanctity or grace of God is acheived, can be easily acquired by lovingly prostrating your mother once. Mother is the embodiment of love, affection, sacrifice and passion. here goes..............
There was a young man who loved his mother very much. They were leading a happy
peaceful and fulfilling life.  There entered a beautiful girl in this man's life. He liked her in the first sight,
"Love at first sight". She wanted to test his love and put forth a task to be fulfilled. She said- to prove
your love, you have to bring your mother's heart to me. Woh! what a task. Blinded by the love, the
young man told his mother about this without any hesitence.  The mother a loving creature on this earth,
replied-my son, if my heart can bring  happiness in your life, I am ready forS this.  He took the mother's
heart.(you can imagine how).  On the way to the lover's house he tripped on a boulder and fell down.
At once the mother's heart in his hand spoke, son be careful, are U hurt? Mother remains to be a
mother, even though mother's are not recognised. Can we think now, of the old age homes around us?S
