What happens by smoking? How is smoking harmful to us? How does it leads to different kinds of diseases? Is smoking hereditary? So on and so forth. There are heck a lot of questions in every individuals mind, but do we have an answer of all these querries. Let us see what this incident teaches us or tells us.
Every time this old man came into the office he used to call all the staffs to his table. Willing or unwilling all had to assemble around his table, as he was the chief of the organisation. Fearing punishment on refusal, every staff used to listen to the same old broken record that "Fools learn from their experience. Brilliant learn from others experience."All the staffs were fedup by this ordeal everyday. One fine morning one young chap frustrated asked him - Sir can you please stop this nonsense, and let us know what you mean.
The chief said - I was just 18 when I had completed my first year in my college. We five friends were just like the famous five who used to be always together in all the activities. Happy, free, fearless young chaps, enjoying everything in life to the core. Once we all attended a birthday party. Party means lots of eatables with hot drinks and specialty being smoking. Then being a teen and not smoking means a girlish character. Friends instigated to smoke just once. That day I slipped down the slide board, and picked up this habit of smoking, which at this age of 53 has become a menace for my life. Even though I stopped smoking ten years ago, I could not get rid of its effects. How does this instigating, aromatic substance harm us. What are its effect? I could realise it very late and it was too late to retrieve back. Now I am left to fend for myself. Smoking is harmful, how - Our nostril is lined up with tiny hairs called cilia, which prevents all the dusts particles from entering our lungs. These hairs are lined down till the lungs. When we smoke these hairs which are very tiny and soft, are burnt down. Constant smoking, these hairs are totally destroyed. Hence we are prone to attract any kinds of disease. We strain the tea dust to have a aromatic hot drink. God gave us an useful stainer to protect us from all harmful germs and bacteria's, but we, for a minutes happiness forget the gift given by Him and destroy it. You are young now, you can sustain this. As old age sets in we loose our stamina and have to cough out the dust and dirt that enters our nostril. Young man now do you understand why I keep saying these words again and again. Please learn from my experience, this is what I mean.
The young staff apologized for his mistake. The next day he wrote the Golden words neatly to be pasted in the office for everybody to see it daily.
FOOLS LEARN FROM THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE. BRILLIANT LEARN FROM OTHERS EXPERIENCE.
I hope that I will be able to reach a few hundred people with this experience. And if I am capable of correcting or making a few realize the harmfulness of smoking, my mission is successful.
Thankyou.
